As the industry transitions to using next-generation propellants in pressurised Metered Dose Inhalers (pMDIs), it is vital to understand how this change may affect the refill event within the metering valve – a key contributor to dose consistency.
Using computational fluid dynamic modelling, the Bespak team investigated refill behaviour in a capillary retention pMDI metering valve, comparing four traditional and next-generation propellants: HFA-134a, HFA-227ea, HFA-152a, and HFO-1234ze(E).
The results of this study were showcased at DDL 2025, presented by Thomas Daly, Bespak Development Engineer. Fill out your details below to receive the poster via email.
