Holmes Chapel, UK, 03 September 2026: Bespak, the specialist inhalation contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has released its 2025 ESG report, showcasing performance, priorities and significant progress across sustainability initiatives in the reporting year.
ESG has been one of Bespak’s highest priorities since the company was established to serve the global pharmaceutical industry with its market leading pulmonary and nasal drug delivery technologies and services. Today, its ESG strategy is driving action across the business, from technology and manufacturing to supply chain engagement, helping Bespak deliver on its ambition to be the trusted innovation partner and sustainability leader in inhaled and nasal drug delivery.
Following the publication of its inaugural ESG update last year, the 2025 ESG Report marks a further step in Bespak’s sustainability journey, moving from commitment to real action, clear results and industry-leading progress.
At the heart of these advances is the global transition to low carbon pressurised Metered Dose Inhalers (pMDIs). In October 2025, Bespak reached a major milestone, completing the first commercial-scale production line for manufacturing with the low Global Warming Potential (GWP) propellant, HFO-1234ze(E). The achievement strengthens Bespak’s ability to support pharmaceutical customers as they transition to more sustainable inhaler technologies at commercial scale.
The report also highlights a series of exciting advances across Bespak’s operations and value chain in 2025, including:
Validation of near- and long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Completion of further Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) across a range actuators, following earlier LCAs on valves and processes.
Launch of a supplier capacity-building and engagement programme to strengthen capabilities on priority environmental and social topics, including product decarbonisation, nature impact and responsible labour practice.
Direction of approximately 80% of capital expenditure towards low carbon transition activities, supporting Bespak’s Net Zero carbon roadmap.
Achievement of 100% sourcing of renewable electricity.
